If you are experiencing any of these symptoms you are likely to be suffering from stress – a condition we are not designed to withstand for extended periods of time.  When chronically stressed, our organs, immune system and nervous system cease to function in a way that supports our health and well-being.

The mind-body connection has been understood in many cultures throughout history and the vital importance of our state of mind and our ability to heal ourselves, spiritually, mentally and physically is now well accepted in our mainstream Western culture.  There appears to be little doubt that our thoughts, feelings and beliefs are key to accelerated healing and well-being.  By maintaining a state of calm and relaxation, we create an optimal state for healing and are far more able to manage the stressors in our life in a healthy way.

Reiki

Because relaxation really matters, you will find that receiving Reiki is a wonderful way to reduce stress and achieve a deep relaxation response that decreases the heart rate and breathing rate and reduces blood pressure. Muscle tension relaxes and stress hormone levels drop as the mind becomes tranquil.  Your body’s own natural healing processes begin to work effectively, harmonising body, mind and spirit. 
Reiki is a non-intrusive and gentle therapy that you will receive while you lie comfortably, fully clothed, on a therapy table.  If it is difficult for you to lie comfortably for an hour, you can receive Reiki while you are seated.  Hand positions are used with a light touch or held a little above the body, depending on your preference or pain level.  As there is no pressure on the body, it is suitable for treating all ages and conditions.  The energy flows wherever it is required and can often be felt as a warm or tingling sensation. A session may last from 30 minutes to an hour or longer, depending on the treatment required. More information

Hypnotherapy and Self-Hypnosis
A hypnotherapy session can be a deep relaxation therapy on its own and can be tailored to address the issues that are preventing you from accessing your natural ability to relax.  You will also be taught how to use self-hypnosis for relaxation.  More information

Neuro-Linguistic Programming
NLP is very useful to uncover and address why anxieties or fears prevent you from being in a naturally relaxed state.  Simple and effective NLP techniques allow you to reframe your perceptions of past experiences and release fears, anxieties and limiting beliefs.  This allows you to move forward with more useful thoughts and behaviours that support a more relaxed state of being.
